AT3 Center — State and Territory Assistive Technology Programs¶
The AT3 Center's directory helps disabled people, older adults, family members, and caregivers find the public Assistive Technology Act program serving their state or territory.1 It is a useful first stop when someone needs equipment but does not yet know which device fits, whether they can try it first, or where lower-cost options may exist.
State and territory programs may offer information and referral, hands-on device demonstrations, short-term loans, equipment reuse, or financing help. The mix of services, available devices, costs, and eligibility varies by program. Some services are often free, while a loan may have a shipping or other nominal fee.
How GiveCare uses this resource¶
Use the directory as a location-aware next step: ask for the caregiver's state or territory, open the corresponding program, and confirm its current services. Do not promise that a device is available, appropriate, free, or covered by insurance. For a medically necessary device, a caregiver may also need a clinician, insurer, Medicare, Medicaid, or an enrolled supplier.
The directory is not a product endorsement list and the AT3 Center is not the caregiver's local equipment provider. GiveCare should not copy all 56 program records into the runtime bundle without a separate, current verification process.
