Virginia Family Caregiver Support and Lifespan Respite Voucher

Virginia supports family caregivers through Area Agency on Aging caregiver support programs, the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services Lifespan Respite Voucher Program, Virginia Easy Access, and the Virginia Caregiver Coalition. Services include caregiver support groups, individual counseling, respite, local AAA referrals, caregiver resources, and limited annual respite reimbursement.

Virginia caregiver support programs are administered by Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) through DARS. Caregivers can access formal or informal supports including respite care, caregiver support groups, and individual counseling. The Virginia Caregiver Coalition offers free bimonthly meetings for networking and resource sharing.
