Pennsylvania Dependent Care, Working Pennsylvanians, Tax Forgiveness, and Property Tax/Rent Rebate Relief

Pennsylvania tax relief relevant to caregiver households, including the refundable Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit, Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit, Tax Forgiveness, and Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program for older adults and people with disabilities.

Pennsylvania's Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit is a refundable state credit claimed on PA-40 with PA Schedule DC. It is based on the federal Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit and equals 100% of the federal credit, with current maximums of $1,050 for one child or dependent and $2,100 for two or more. Pennsylvania's Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit is a new refundable state-level credit modeled on the federal EITC; it equals 10% of the federal EITC and can be up to $805. Pennsylvania Tax Forgiveness can reduce or refund state personal income tax liability for eligible low-income households based on marital status, family size, and eligibility income, and is claimed with PA Schedule SP. The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program provides standard rebates from $380 to $1,000 for eligible homeowners and renters who are age 65 or older, widows or widowers age 50 or older, or people with disabilities age 18 or older, with household income of $48,110 or less; some applicants may receive supplemental rebates.
