Family Paid Caregivers

Family Paid Caregivers allows Medicaid members enrolled in Agency-Based or Self-Directed Community Benefit programs to hire any family member or friend as a paid caregiver.

Eligibility

• Care recipient must have a qualifying disability
• Relationship: spouse, child, parent, sibling, other relative, non relative

How to apply

• ABCB members: if using an LRI as caregiver, contact the member's health plan Care Coordinator for approval; if not an LRI, contact the member's current home health agency to become an employee; caregiver then becomes an employee of the home health agency and uses EVV to track hours. SDCB members: the member or their Employer of Record selects a caregiver (contacting the health plan first if the caregiver is an LRI), then works with the Support Broker to start the employment process.
