Nebraska ADRC, Area Agencies on Aging, and 211 Resource Navigation¶
Nebraska caregivers can use Nebraska's Aging and Disability Resource Center, Area Agencies on Aging, State Unit on Aging, Lifespan Respite Network, and 211 Nebraska to find aging, disability, caregiver, long-term services and supports, benefits, in-home personal care, respite, assistive technology, medical equipment, nutrition, transportation, housing, legal, utility, food, shelter, and community resource referrals.
Nebraska DHHS says the Aging and Disability Resource Center is for Nebraskans age 60 or older, people with disabilities of all ages, family members, caregivers, and advocates. Local ADRCs provide information, referrals, and assistance for accessing community services and long-term care options, and can be reached toll-free at 844-843-6364. Nebraska DHHS lists ADRC services including information and referral, options counseling, transitional options counseling, benefits assistance, and mobility training. ADRC services help connect users to medical equipment, assistive technology, nutrition programs, housing options, transportation, dementia care services, in-home personal care, wellness programs, social connectedness, homemaking and chore services, benefits or assistance options, and safety education and training. Nebraska's State Unit on Aging oversees Older Americans Act, Nebraska Community Aging Services Act, and ADRC Act funding; Area Agencies on Aging and other providers deliver community services that promote health, safety, and long-term independence for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers. Nebraska Lifespan Respite Network says the ADRC and Area Agencies on Aging are for older Nebraskans, people with disabilities, family members, caregivers, and advocates and provide information, referral, and assistance for community services and long-term care options. 211 Nebraska provides call, text, online search, live chat, and email referral channels and helps users find food, shelter, utility assistance, transportation, legal, disaster, and other community supports.
