Consumer Directed Services

Consumer Directed Services allows Medicaid beneficiaries with nursing facility-level care needs to recruit and manage a paid personal assistant from relatives, friends, neighbors, or worker registries, with financial management services and a care advisor.

• Express interest in consumer-direction to your CAP case management entity (CME); the CME schedules a training/orientation session and the beneficiary completes a self-assessment questionnaire to determine readiness, which the CME evaluates to approve consumer-direction
