Indiana INCharge Self-Directed Services / Structured Family Caregiving¶
Indiana FSSA offers INCharge Self-Directed Services for HCBS waivers including PathWays for Aging, Health & Wellness, TBI, Family Supports, and CIH. Self-direction lets members hire, pay, and manage workers directly with FMS support; separate Structured Family Caregiving guidance covers paid family/spouse caregiving on PathWays, Health & Wellness, and TBI waivers.
Indiana INCharge Self-Directed Services lets eligible HCBS waiver members self-direct certain services on PathWays for Aging, Health & Wellness, TBI, Family Supports, and CIH waivers. Self-directed workers may include friends, family members, neighbors, or recruited workers, but spouses and legal guardians cannot be hired as self-directed workers. Separate Structured Family Caregiving guidance says waiver recipients whose spouse will provide SFC can work with a care manager to add that service, and SFC pays a daily rate to the provider when delivered under an approved service plan.
