Alabama One Door ADRC Resource Navigation

Alabama caregivers can use One Door Alabama and the Aging and Disability Resource Centers housed in Area Agencies on Aging to get local information, counseling, benefits screening, application help, and referrals for caregiver support services, in-home services, transportation, food assistance, legal assistance, Medicare and Medicaid counseling, prescription help, and other community resources.

One Door Alabama is Alabama's ADRC referral and navigation layer. ADRCs are housed within each Area Agency on Aging and serve as the first place to go with aging, disability, and caregiver questions. During business hours, ADRCs answer calls, screen for programs and services, assist with applications, answer questions, refer applicants to other agencies, and follow up as needed. ADSS lists available One Door Alabama services including crisis support, transportation, food assistance, legal assistance, in-home services, senior employment, elder abuse prevention, long-term care advocacy, caregiver support services, prescription drug assistance, and Medicare and Medicaid counseling.
