Alaska VA Caregiver Support

The Alaska VA Health Care System Caregiver Support Team helps caregivers of Veterans find VA caregiver assistance, enroll in caregiver programs and services, connect with VA benefits, and link to local resources and programs. It supports family caregivers through education, resources, support, practical coaching, emotional support, and referrals.

Alaska VA's Caregiver Support Team helps caregivers find the right support, enroll in caregiver programs and services, get caregiver assistance available through VA, match with services and benefits, and connect with local resources and programs. The team provides supportive counseling, linkage to VA and community supports, practical coaching, emotional support, and support by phone or in person by appointment. National VA caregiver programs connected through this local pathway include PGCSS, PCAFC, the Caregiver Support Line, and formal respite options.

  • Care recipient must be a veteran
  • Relationship: spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, other relative, non relative
