Wisconsin Family Caregiver Support Programs

Wisconsin offers statewide family caregiver support through the National Family Caregiver Support Program and the Alzheimer’s Family and Caregiver Support Program. Caregivers can start with their local Aging and Disability Resource Center to connect with education, respite, counseling, support groups, home-safety supports, and other local services.

NFCSP services include caregiver education, support groups, self-care, help accessing services, information about service options, one-on-one counseling, respite such as bathing, grocery shopping, meal preparation, snow removal and transportation, safe in-home-care training, adaptive equipment, minor home modifications, and personal protective equipment. AFCSP can help caregivers buy services and goods for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, including adult day care, in-home help, respite, transportation, safety systems, meals, and special supplies; support amounts may vary by county priorities and need.
