VA Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS)

VA support services open to caregivers of veterans enrolled in VA health care. PGCSS has no stipend, no disability-rating threshold, no relative or cohabitation requirement, and no formal application. The broad-eligibility VA caregiver line is the correct referral for many veteran caregivers who do not qualify for PCAFC.

PGCSS provides VA caregiver education and support, including skills training, mobile support, one-on-one coaching, group support, peer support mentoring, respite support, and resource referrals. Caregivers can enroll at any VA Medical Center with a Caregiver Support Team or call the Caregiver Support Line at 1-855-260-3274. VA says no formal application is required for PGCSS. This record should route caregivers needing cash stipend screening to PCAFC separately.
