Rhode Island ADRC, The Point, MyOptionsRI, and 211 Resource Navigation¶
Rhode Island caregivers can use the Office of Healthy Aging's Aging and Disability Resource Center, The Point healthy aging helpdesk, MyOptionsRI, and United Way 211 to find local aging, disability, caregiver, long-term services and supports, home care, adult day, food, housing, utility, health care, transportation, veteran, memory care, and community service referrals.
Rhode Island's Office of Healthy Aging says the Rhode Island Aging and Disability Resource Center is for people age 55 or older, adults living with a disability, and caregivers. The ADRC provides free and confidential specialist help to identify needs, explore resources and services, and assist with applications to public and private programs, including home and community-based care, caregiver resources, memory and cognitive care planning, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, heating and utility assistance, and community resources. The Department of Human Services says The Point helpdesk is a free resource provided by OHA in partnership with United Way 2-1-1 to help older adults, people living with disabilities, and caregivers explore options, and that it is available 24/7 by calling 401-462-4444 or 2-1-1. MyOptionsRI provides person-centered options counseling for long-term services and supports and follows up through a MyOptions Advisor from the ADRC. United Way 211 connects Rhode Islanders with housing, food, transportation, health care, veterans assistance, utilities, legal and tax help, and resources for adults over 55 or with disabilities.
