Maryland Family Caregiver Support Program¶
Maryland's Family Caregiver Support Program is administered by the local Area Agency on Aging network with federal Administration for Community Living funding. It helps family and informal caregivers keep loved ones at home through information, assistance, counseling, case management, education and training, support groups, respite care, supplemental services, and Maryland Access Point referrals.
Maryland's Family Caregiver Support Program provides information about services, assistance gaining access to services, counseling, case management, caregiver education and training, support groups, respite care, and limited supplemental services. The program is administered through the local Area Agency on Aging network and works with state and community-based services. Maryland Access Point is Maryland's Aging and Disability Resource Center and No Wrong Door system, with a website, statewide toll-free number, and local offices at every Area Agency on Aging. Maryland also has a DHS Respite Care Program that offers financial reimbursement for short-term temporary care for children and adults with developmental disabilities and adults with functional disabilities.
